Question:1 How did Kalpana's life take shape ? Discuss her early life and reaching out to NASA. 

Answer :  Kalpana Chawla, India's first woman astronaut to go into space. Banarasi Lal Chawla's family gave great importance to academic excellence among all it's children. Kalpana also found immense strength and unfailing support in her mother who believed that one should always do what one loves best. Kalpana went to a school that was close to her home, the Tagore Bal Niketan. Though it was not large or among the 'best' in town, the school has special advantage in that it was headed by princial who loved children and it had teachers who were caring and deeply committed to their profession, her school and teachers went a long way in the shaping of Kalapana, afact that she remembered with gratitude all her life. 

                     By the time Kalpana Chawla left school with an impressive academic record to her credit, she knew with amazing certainly for one so young that she wanted to be an aerospace engineer. Kalpana completed her pre-dgree from Dayal Singh College in Karnal and immediately afterwards was selected for admission to the Punjab Engineering College (PEC) in Chandigarh. At the PEC, Kalpana who had by then decided that she wanted to be a flight engineer and design aircraft-opted to study aeronautical engineering. Kalpana would turn without hesitation or fear towards the more difficult and challenging option. She spent most of her time in the classroom, the library or laboratory, but this did not stop her form participating in the annual sports day and other college functions. At the PEC, Kalpana learnt about aircraft materials, propulsion and theoretical aerodynamics. 

                    As she neared the end of her undergraduate course, Kalpana Chawla started exploring possibilities for continue her studies in the United States of America. After considering many places, Kalpana finally decided to attend the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). In December 1983, Kalpana married French American Jean-Pierre Harrison who was among the first friend she had made on her arrival in the United States. After completing her master's programme. Kalpana moved with her husband to Colorado, set in the breathtaking Rocky Mountains. At first, she enrolled for a Ph.D in mechanical engineering but shortly afterwards decided to shift to aerospace engineering that had always been her passion. 

                    Shortly after completing her PhD.S in 1988, Kalpana Chawla joined the NASA Ames Research Center in California. She also applied to the NASA Space Center to become an astronaut. During the time between 1992 and 1994, Kalpana became a student of the Abhinaya Dance Academy in San Jose where she learnt Bharatnatyam. Kalpana was informed by NASA that she was to appear for an interview and medical evaluation that could lead her to the job of an astronaut. It was the finest of the achievements in itself because she was among the 122 aspiring astronauts chosen from a total if 262 applications. She paid special attention to improving her public speaking skills. Eventually Kalpana Chawla became one of the nineteen candidates selected to be beyond the wildest dreams of a person coming from a small town in distant India. 

                  In March 1995, Kalpana moved to Houston with her husband, who had proved to be a supportive co-voyage in the course of her difficult journey, to begin her tough training programme at the NASA Center. At the end of a year, Kalpana was selected as a crew representative in the NASA Astronaut Office Extra Vehicular Activity and Computer Branches where her work included testing space shuttle control software. Thus Kalpana's journey reached NASA.

Answer : Generally today's question girs who come from remote areas have more difficulties.  Many restrictions are see in the boys and girls.  Girls don't have to go outside alone at night.  Girls can not express their thoughts and opinions easily.  They are not allowed to study outside.  Many girls face even more difficulties and restrictions than this. 

Questions :4 Does Kalpana's life inspire you? How ?

Answer  : it's inspire me in many ways such as her life teaches me to be bold and fearless and give your best to achieve your dreams, always thunk for the bigger picture in your life, always do difficult and challenging work, nothing is impossible in life even the impossible word says i am possible, girls are not for cooking...Girls like Kalpana proves that the girls can achieving everything they wish to, don't choose your dream according to situations but select your dreams to change your condition.
