Environment: Water: The Elixir Of Life

We studied unit-1 Environment, Water: The Elixir Of Life, in Compulsory English. Regarding this unit, we saw a documentary of the Barmer, Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Shortage of water though many lakh people survive there.

'Pipasa' Lallantop team reached Barmer and took stock of the situation there. All people face many problems regarding the scarcity of water. Initially,  the people there used to store water inside the desert. Many girls want to study and become teachers and all but they can't due to the compulsion to fill the water. In any situation,  those people have to go to fill the water, be it pregnancy or in periods. Many females are 70 or 80 old year's but they have to go for water. After some time water tanks were started there by the government. The government used to send water tanks every day but those people were getting benefits only once in a month.

Many women also suffer from back or leg pain but are not relieved without water. Their children and all struggling for water. Those people like to rest and eat but they have to work hard for water every day. In the current generation, people yearn for higher education,  population,  freedom etc. But their people are yearning for freshwater as before. Now everyone has different needs but there is still one need. This is 'WATER' 💧💦

Indeed, I really like watching this documentary and the importance of water was understood. When Vipul Dabhi sir used to say in the classroom that water should be saved, not wasted, only needed should be used. At that time I thought nothing would happen if we did not save water, but after watching this documentary it seems that water is everything. Everyone should see this documentary and know the value of water.

Thinking Task - Lord of the Flies

What is the general atmosphere of the movie Lord of the Flies?

• As per my observation in this movie there was a lot of conflict between two teams on the mountain. First of all, we never insert body shaming should be done.

• In this movie British language that's why I'm not audible this movie properly but, before we studied in the classroom therefore it is easy to understand.

• some people who are innocent and intellectual are made a fool or it's making fun. A lot of the process is shown by the sound of the music. and all children act very well.

• In this movie shows Sadism, someone was being beaten and others were happy. Piggy was a very innocent person in frustrate and others were happy. At the end piggy's die duo to the rock slide.

• Equality and heard mentality kills people. Not all places should be quiet and innocent. You are only being used there. At the end when the whole jungle was on fire and everyone was about to be killed, where the navy officer comes and saves everyone.

• From this we learn, what changes are seen when authority with us and when they are not with us. How we behave with each and every person. It's something to learn, and that's what we learn through this movie.

King Lear By William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare (bapt, 26th April 1564, 23 April 1616) was an English playwright, poet, and actor. His consists of some 39 plays, 154 sonnets, three long narrative poems and a few other verses.

 Major characters :

1. King Lear

2. Goneril

3. Regan

4. Cordelia

5. Edmund

6.  Edgar

Minor characters :

1. Earl of Glouster

2. Kent

3. King of France

4. Old man

5. Fool

            Plot ( summary) :

King Lear is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. It is based on mythological life of Britain. Decides to step down from the throne and divide his kingdom early among his three daughters. First, he puts his daughters through a test, asking each to tell him how much she loves him and after that Regan and Goneri both elder sister wants his property that why they both praised their father and the youngest daughter Cordelia give their father a flattered answer.

       Important Quotes :

" Nothing will come of nothing: speak again."

" How sharper than a serpent's tooth it is To have a thankless child."

" The prince of darkness is a gentleman."

" Tha art of our necessities is strange that can make vile things precious."

" Loves not love when it is mingled with regards that stand Aloof from the entire point."

      Moral Commentary :

In my view, this tragic story shows the bond between daughters and fathers. In Which Morality is one of the best daughters, they never want property and kingdom and those daughters who only want property and temptation of their father that's why they praising their father. Even the king Lear is happy to praise his daughters, but in reality, they are not really love their father they love only their property and kingdom. Cordelia is one of the youngest daughters who love their father.

     Personal Analysis :

King Lear tragic story is very important and reality of this generation. And if I give the my suggestions that Regan and Goneril was misbehave with their father we should not do that. Because father is the king of man who wants the happiness of his daughters. Therefore we should don't disrespect to him.

Animal Farm by George Orwell

                  Animal Farm by George Orwell

Questions:1 Which is your favourite character from "Animal Farm" by George Orwell? Why?

 Answer:1
Animal Farm by George Orwell is an allegory and satirical story. This story is based on the Russian Revolution of 1917. In this story, my favourite character is Snowball because that pig does good to everyone, his a good pig on the manor farm and he changed the Manor farm to an Animal farm. Snowball made many rules for other animals and all animals did it. Boxer is very honest in their work. Snowball is right about his work but Nepolean oppressed every animal.

Question:2 Write 10 original lines from the text which you loved the most.

 Answer:2
Below are the 10 lines I loved the most from Animal Farm.
1) "All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others"
2) "Four legs good, two legs bad"
3) " All men are enemies. All animals are comrades"
4) "The only good human being is a dead one"
5) "The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig again; but already it was impossible to say which was which"
6) "several of them would have protested if they could have found the right arguments"
7) "Can you not understand that liberty is worth more than just ribbons?"
8) "this work was strictly voluntary, but any animal who absented himself from it would have his rations reduced by half.
9) "Already it was impossible to say which was which"
10) "whatever goes upon two legs, or has wings, is a friend"

Question:3 Interpret "All animals are equal, some are more equal"  in your own words.

   Answer:3
Animal Farm is an allegory and satirical story. In a way, all animals are equal on the manor farm and some are more equal. Mr Jones was the owner of the manor farm and he keeps many animals on his farm. Somewhere many animals are equal. In the manor farm Old Major pig, Snowball, Squealer, and Nepolean, there are all pigs and Major is old age and is a very kind of person. Snowball is a good pig on the Manor farm and he changed the Manor farm to an Animal farm. Squealer is a very good speaker. And Nepolean is very rude and ruthless. Therefore some are equal and some are more equal on a farm.
